About DMA

The Digital Money Association (DMA) is the global industry body for stablecoins and digital money, bringing together organisations from across traditional finance, digital assets, payments, technology and market infrastructure.

Its mission is to help accelerate the responsible adoption of digital money through education, collaboration, best-practice development and policy engagement. The Association provides a forum through which established financial institutions, digital-native businesses, policymakers, regulators and other market participants can exchange knowledge and work collectively on the development of a secure, efficient and interoperable digital money ecosystem.

Originally established as the Stablecoin Standard, the organisation evolved into the Digital Money Association in 2026 to reflect the broadening scope of the market. While stablecoins remain a major area of focus, the DMA’s remit encompasses the wider development of digital forms of money and the infrastructure, regulation and commercial applications supporting their adoption.

A central part of the DMA’s work is engagement with governments, regulators and policymakers. It contributes to policy discussions and consultation processes, organises industry roundtables and events, and develops member-led frameworks designed to encourage high standards and greater regulatory interoperability. Its work includes frameworks addressing payment stablecoins and decentralised stablecoins, alongside continuing initiatives to establish and share industry best practice.

Education and collaboration are equally important. Through research, educational materials, leadership engagement, events and networking, the DMA helps institutions and businesses understand how digital money can be deployed safely, compliantly and efficiently.

The result is an organisation positioned at the intersection of innovation, financial markets, payments and public policy. By connecting the different participants required to make digital money work at scale, the DMA aims to help move the industry from experimentation towards practical, trusted and increasingly mainstream adoption.
